What an amazing time to be in the profession of Dietetics!  The world is finally taking notice of the importance of health and nutrition and what factors diet plays into that.  We as nutrition professionals are eager to share our wealth of knowledge and be the advocates of food and nutrition.  We are the NUTRITION EXPERTS!

I am truly honored to serve as President of the Louisiana Dietetic Association.  Nutrition has been my passion from an early age.  I was one who would manipulate recipes to make them more nutritious at the age of twelve.  I began my education in Dietetics at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  I completed both my graduate and undergraduate degrees from there as well as the post-graduate internship.  My volunteer service began right out of college when I was asked to serve as Secretary for the Acadiana District Dietetic Association (previous LDDA).  Through the years I worked my way through all of the positions, ending with serving as president in 2007.  All the while I also served as LDA New Member Representative.  I then served as LDA Secretary for two years, followed by a one-year tenure as President-elect, which lead to my presidency.  As President-elect my duty was to plan the 2011 LDA FNCE, titled Extreme Makeover, RD/DTR edition.   I wanted to motivate our profession to make the changes necessary both professionally and personally to promote the practice of Dietetics to the world. 

We as Louisiana nutrition professionals are pleased that you have chosen to seek further knowledge through our web-site.
