Mentoring

A mentor is an individual, usually older, always more experienced, who helps and guides another individual’s development. This guidance is not done for personal gain. Mentoring is commonly used in educational settings or at businesses with training departments who wish to "personally" educate or train employees. One of the most valuable assets your career can have is to mentor those who would otherwise succeed you in business.

LDA can help if you require a mentor in the dietetics field.

Not sure which area you would like to practice? Here is your opportunity to learn which scope of dietetics you would like to pursue. Come work with and learn from the leaders in our field!

As a student, you constantly strive to learn of all the new ideas and topics from professionals in our field. Many professionals also enjoy working with the students. Professionals are also often better informed from their future counterparts (you). We are offering an opportunity for academia to meet the real world with our shadowing program. Our professional members are volunteering their time, experience and expertise to students to allow for a brief yet memorable educational experience. This will help you the nutrition professional in return. Everyone benefits from this program.

If you are a student that is interested in volunteering with a nutrition professional, please see our list of participating RD/DTRs.
